if yes what kind of permit /license do you need and how much would it cost. mostly for the salt lake area ( southern side). also any advice would be great too
You don’t need a license for the business itself if you do it as a d/b/a (schedule C on your taxes, d/b/a means “doing business as”) but in most places you’ll need a license to place the vending machines themselves. Ask your Secretary of State / Division of Corporations how to register as a DBA (unless you want to just do business in your own name). As for the vending machine license, call the town clerk or city hall where you live and ask who to speak to about vending machine licenses. Maybe you need one, maybe you don’t.
You’re going into business aren’t you? Yes you need a license. Go to your town’s clerk office and they will tell you exactly what type of license is required in your municipality. Good new is it will probably cost you about $85.
PS. Consider a good liability policy as well. Roughly 15,000 people each year get hurt by abusing vending machines. Ouch!
